Dean: Voting machines not reliable

Howard Dean, chairman of the DNC, had this to say about voting machines:

This is not some Internet conspiracy; this is a serious problem that faces American democracy. These machines are not reliable and they shouldn’t be used. We should not be using machines in this country where the results of the vote can’t be verified after the fact. Period. Any machines.

The entire transcript of the conversation can be found here.

Here in Norfolk, we use Diebold touchscreen machines. I’ve written before on why we need to have verified voting. Perhaps Mr. Dean can convince the Virginia General Assembly to do something about it.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
