Bay Oaks Park fight not over

The Bay Oaks Park Committee has filed a notice of appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court, asking that the earlier decision be overturned and the petition on the park be reinstated. The group has until June 24 to file the full appeal. The process could easily go into 2007 if the court decides to have a full hearing. A brief hearing in front of three or four judges could be held in October or November.

Whether or not the city and the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority goes ahead with developing the site before the issue is fully settled is unknown.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
