Paula Miller fundraiser 12/9

Paula-Miller.gifOn Saturday, December 9, join Delegate Paula Miller (D-87th) with special guest Governor Tim Kaine for a reception. The event, hosted by Sheriff and Mrs. Bob McCabe, will be held from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at 9552 25th Bay Street in the East Beach section of Norfolk. Tickets are $250, $500 and $1,000.

Not yet declared is Republican Henry C. “Hank” Giffin, III, a retired Vice Admiral, who is said to be running against Miller for this seat with the support of councilman Randy Wright. Wright previously supported Miller. The 87th, where I live, was formerly represented by Thelma Drake. Although both Webb (52.9%) and Kaine (55.2%) both won this district, I understand that the Republicans really want this seat back in their column. Miller faces her third test in as many elections, having twice defeated Michael Ball.

Even if you cannot make the event or cannot afford the $250, I’m sure that Delegate Miller will be grateful for any contribution you can make.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. I’m glad to see that the delegate races are already beginning to spring into action. One of the best things about being interested in politics and living in Virginia is that there is always some campaign that you can get involved in.

  2. Since October, I’ve attended fundraisers for Senator Yvonne Miller, Delegate Algie Howell and Delegate Lionell Spruill.

  4. Why, of course :) And depending on the size of the donation, I’ll bet I can get it autographed for you ;)
