Sickles: “very bad transportation policy”

In case you missed it, the fine folks over at 7 West had a guest blogger last week, fellow Delegate Mark Sickles. In his post, Delegate Sickles offers his opinion about the transportation funding. While commending the legislation for allowing Hampton Roads and Northern VA to provide for themselves, he calls the use of $250 million in general fund revenue “very bad transportation policy.”

Head over and read the whole thing. And Delegate Sickles – welcome to the blogosphere and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

One Response to “Sickles: “very bad transportation policy””

  1. 250 million out of a 74 BILLION dollar budget?

All by himself, Del. Sickles asked to spend General fund money on:

    250 2h Stem Cell Research $ $15,000,000
    481 167h Franconia Museum $5,000
    481 168h Laurel Grove School Association $2,500
    481 287h Fairfax Park Foundation – Historic Huntley $$25,000
    481 300h Fairfax Community Health Services $500,000

He’s “stealing money from education.” That’s one single delegate who cha-chings over 15 million dollars in a single year.
