Richardson: Try diplomacy

NM Governor and Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson thinks it is time to try diplomacy to end the war in Iraq.

“He [President George Bush] finally used diplomacy and it works,” Richardson said on the first day of a two-day visit to the early voting state of New Hampshire. “My hope is that he uses that lesson … to talk to Syria about Hezbollah and Iraq, and that he talks to Iran about getting out of Iraq and stop their meddling there.”

[...]

Richardson, a former U.N. ambassador who has negotiated with North Korea and Saddam Hussein, said his own Iraq plan combines diplomacy with a troop withdrawal by the end of 2007.

Richardson may be a long-shot to win the nomination but he’s certainly making a splash. I like this guy.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  3. He’s our choice — he’s got a lot of common sense, which has been sorely lacking the last few years.
