I understand that the caterers prepared for 7,000 attendees at today’s pig roast, hosted by former governor Mark Warner and his wife, Lisa Collis. I have no idea how many folks were there; let’s just say it was a bunch :)
Warner took up his normal spot after playing a bit of basketball (and injuring his leg in the process) to shake hands shortly after I arrived. He was in the same spot when I left – and people were still standing in line. A few feet away, Governor Tim Kaine had his own line of people waiting to shake his hand. Kaine didn’t last as long as Warner, though, and left before I did. It was good to see him so relaxed.
I got a chance to chat with a number of people from around the state. I didn’t get video of all of them, but I got some :)
Oh, and in case you missed it, Secretary Viola Baskerville was wearing the coolest button there ;)
