Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I’m about to start cooking. The menu doesn’t change much from year to year at my house, so I won’t repeat it
But as much as I enjoy the food (and the football
), I can’t help but think about all that I am thankful for. The list is far too long to post, and no doubt if I tried, I’d leave something off. Honestly, I don’t need a day set aside to remind me to be thankful. Every morning when I awake and see the sun streaming through the trees is my time to be thankful for all of life’s blessings. I’m even thankful for the challenges, because I believe it is through those challenges that I am able to grow. (I think this was what my father was getting at when he penned this column in 1958.)
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
You set a beautiful table Vivian … but you need a little
grilled turkey
Posted by Shawn O'Donnell | Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 1:24 pmMan, you guys come up with some stuff! Never heard of grilled turkey. And what’s wrong with a plain old roasted turkey?
Posted by vjp | Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 1:58 pmOne year when the oven broke, I cooked the turkey by smoking it on the Weber grill.
It was awesome.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
