Four arrested in Sean Taylor killing

Four people have been arrested in conjunction with the death of Redskins player Sean Taylor.

Miami-Dade police department spokeswoman Linda O’Brien identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17 [pictured]; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. O’Brien said that the exact charges for each had not yet been determined but “we are talking murder and burglary,” she said.

Kudos to the police for moving so quickly on this.

UPDATE: The four men have been charged with unpremeditated murder.

  1. Totally agree with the kudos. This moved quickly, which is in stark contrast to the Darrent Williams case. Hopefully, they will solve that case and apprehend a suspect sooner rather than later. But this is good news for the police department down in Miami.

  3. I’m in search of a site examining the evidence, contesting the DA’s decision!!
…i am very upset that these people have been charged with ‘unpremeditated’ murder…this just doenst set right with me on so many levels. From the info at hand, Sean never left the bdroom, he didnt seek out the intruders, they sought him. Why didnt the burglars leave when it became clear the house was occupied? They(burglars) were in no immediate danger/threat, they had opportunity to exit and avoid confrontation. It was a conscious decision to enter the bdroom. The shooter should atleast be on death row.

  4. I’m no lawyer but it seems that they did not go there with the intent to commit murder. That’s why the charge is “unpremeditated.”

  5. As we have all learned, Sean Taylor, starter for the Washington Redskins, died Tuesday after he was shot in what at first glance appears to be a home invasion. What a tragedy. This man was so young. He had made mistakes, but seemed to be turning his life around. Rest In Peace, Sean.
