Norfolk forums on open space

The City of Norfolk is holding two public forums on what should be done with the open space formerly known as Bay Oaks Park. Sunday’s edition of the Compass (not available online) has a full page ad announcing the two meetings, which are as follows:

  • Saturday, December 8, 9-11am, Lafayette Winona Middle School (1701 Alsace Avenue)
  • Monday, December 10, 6:30-8:30pm, Northside Middle School (8720 Granby Street)

All Norfolk residents are urged to attend and let your views be known. For more information, call 664-4747 or visit the city’s website (the press release is here).

  1. People interested in more information about the long term struggle to save the live oaks trees and create a part at what is called Bay Oaks Park should look at the groups web site at http://www.bayoakspark.com. There is a significant amount of background information about the effort.
