The Washington Redskins remain in the playoff hunt after their 22-10 win Sunday night over the New York Giants. Playing in less than perfect conditions, the Redskins improved to 7-7 on a strong performance by running back Clinton Portis, who gained 126 yards on 25 carries.
Replacement quarterback Todd Collins, making his first start in 10 years, didn’t put up gaudy numbers but got the job done. I like this guy – as a matter of fact, I’ve liked him since he first came to the team. His understanding of Al Saunders’ offense shines through. I know he doesn’t have the big arm that Jason Campbell has but as I’ve said before, watching Campbell read defenses is about like watching paint dry.
Anyway – with two games to go, Collins is the guy. I’m actually looking forward to watching the games again ;)
