Moran to announce initiative on dangerous toys

House Democratic Caucus Chair Brian Moran and Lynchburg Delegate Shannon Valentine will be announcing a new legislative initiative Friday morning to crack down on dangerous toys sold to children. According to the announcement:

As many as 73,000 kids were taken to the Emergency Room last year because of toy related injuries and we have seen growing national concern about recalled toys, particularly imported from China.

Also joining Moran and Valentine will be John Morgan, Policy Director, Voices for Virginia’s Children and Dr. Colleen Kraft, President, American Academy of Pediatrics – Virginia Chapter. The announcement will take place in the House Briefing Room at 10:30am.
