Word on the street is that the Washington Redskins are looking into moving their training camp to Virginia Beach. For this Redskins fan, I can only say that I hope it happens. The Skins currently train at Redskins Park, after a number of years in Carlisle, PA. My sister happened to have lived in Carlisle when the camp was there and she would often pass along stories to me.
I understand that there are costs associated with playing host to the team (one person I talked to put the cost at $3 million a year) but consider this one of those “quality of life” issues
My fingers are crossed that Virginia Beach manages to pull this off. (Image from Redskins website of Antwaan Randle El at training camp in August 2007.)
Where here?

Posted by Pharmstrong, lance | Friday, December 21, 2007, 12:41 amI think one trip to Virginia Beach in the traffic and long red lights and they will find someplace a lot closer to DC. I’ve been a Redskins fan all my life but I dread what would happen if they came to Virginia Beach. I can only see it ending in disaster. Just like everything else in Virginia Beach.

I can’t understand why they would move it. The facilities at Redskins Park are fantastic, if you’ve never seen them (I had professional reasons to visit a few years back). Unless the purpose is more of a retreat to get the players away from their families, and focused on the team. Which would make sense.

NFL = WWE
Only an imbecile could take TV football seriously.
