Playoffs, baby!

Todd Collins at line of scrimmage The Washington Redskins defeated long-term rival Dallas yesterday. The 27-6 win propels the team into the playoffs.

I didn’t get to see the game, although I did hear a bit of it on the radio as I traveled from one place to the other. Sitting in traffic on 495 prior to the game, though, I was reminded of how big a deal this matchup was, as car after car headed to the game, Redskins flags flying.

It always feels good to beat Dallas ;) Hail to the Redskins!

Of course it took a Michigan QB to save the season. They have another pretty good UM QB in New England also!

Really? I do not seem to recall his being on the field when the defense held Dallas to ONE YARD RUSHING.

Now, for a peak into Carla’s world in the closing moments of the game yesterday afternoon:

“Dallas sucks! Dallas sucks! You suck, Dallas!” (Prancing around goofily while chanting, scaring the hell out of the dog and the cat).

Dang Vivian, while it must have been great to hear- it was AMAZING to see. They really came together as a team. Moss, Portis and….wow, Collins!
And Gregg Williams’ defense was incredible.
During the press conf after, Gibbs mentioned the fact that they won by 21 points…
    Call me superstitious….
Hail to Redskins!!! Seattle here we come!!!!

Carla- when I walked in the door (I have 4 neighbors who are serious fans-2 were @ the game and I was watching with the others) I picked up the cat and swung him around chanting “Playoffs! Playoffs!”. Needless to say, the cat was spooked and the boyfriend found it quite funny…
For any fans out there, I just discovered 102.1’s afternoon show with John Castleberry- good show.

I’m on the Collins bandwagon. Best quarterback the Redskins have had in a long, long time. Holding the Cowboys to 1 yard rushing was incredibly sweet (finally, after that defense was looking pretty shabby mid-season).

Not to think too far ahead, but if we get the chance to put this kind of hurting on Dallas *in Dallas*, oh man…

First, we want Seattle. Then, WE WANT DALLAS! AGAIN!!!

Honestlhy people. It took a great opponent to bring out the best in the Redskins. It’s really ashame that game really didn’t mean too much to Dallas. OK. Yeah. I am a Dallas fan. All kidding aside, Washington did look exceptionally well and I think surprised alot of people outside the Washington fan base. The real question is can they carry it forward through the playoffs. And then they have to deal with Dallas again, at our house, with all our players, and hopefully not Jessica Simpson.

Shaun – I’ve been on the Collins bandwagon since he got to Washington. I just wish we hadn’t wasted so much time on Campbell.

LF – time will tell. Washington is on a 4-game winning streak. I think it is going to take them right thru Seattle and, like Shaun said, WE WANT DALLAS! :)

Does anyone know why Collins wasn’t activated sooner???? I mean- I wonder what he could have contributed sooner…

Last time the Redskins and Cowboys met? January 23rd, 1983.

Result? Redskins 31, Cowboys 17. Skins went to the Super Bowl that year… and lost to the Radiers.

In fact, in the two times they have met, the Cowboys have never beaten the Redskins in the postseason.

Another interesting fact: During their 17-0 season, the unbeaten Miami Dolphins squared up against the Washington Redskins. Skins special teams almost won it in the fourth quarter too (though sadly, this game was before I was even a thought).

Seeing as the Patriots are 16-0 now and have two more games to go, could it be FATE that brings the red hot Skins to avenge the *garblegarblestupidheadsets* loss at Gillette Stadium to the New *garbled* Patriots?

Time to make room for that FOURTH Lombardi Trophy! WARM UP THE DIESEL!
