Moran forms PAC for 2009 gubernatorial

Brian MoranHouse Democratic Caucus chairman Brian Moran will establish a new PAC Friday, according to this AP story. Moran will not officially announce his run for governor until after the General Assembly session is over.

So it seems were headed for an expensive primary, one I had hoped could be avoided. The Republicans are already gleefully rubbing their hands as the prospect of a Democratic primary, the first in quite some time.

The Republicans are quite proud of Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.” Democrats should adopt a similar philosophy. It is one thing to compare and contrast the candidates’ positions; quite another to attack them personally, as I have already seen some people do.

As for me – well, I said earlier that I wouldn’t be announcing my choice for governor until later. Today’s announcement changes that a bit. Just as I said in my presidential choice post, I will ultimately support the Democratic nominee. But for now, I’m supporting the man whose views line up closely to my own. For me, that’s Brian Moran.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. I hear A-rod also released a statement through his agent in the middle of the Iowa caucus’ seventh inning stretch that he’s decided not to extend his contract with the New York Yankees and will instead seek a better offer from another ball club. Nice to see him finally declare and all, but lousy timing.

  2. If the race turns the question which candidate’s father can beat up an eight-year old boy, then Moran clearly has the advantage.

  4. If he is for getting rid of the abusive drivers fees, I’ll back him 100%.

  5. I believe Mr.Kirwin is attempting to make a bad Jim Moran joke, but doesn’t seem to realize that the Morans are brothers. Thus, he once again looks both foolish *and* unfunny. As usual.

Here’s a joke for you, Brian:
“For 16 days Bearing Drift has been silent about negative campaigning by Mitt Romney”

    Get it?
