The New York Giants completed the upset of the year by defeating the New England Patriots, 17-14. Unbelivable. Proof that pressure on Tom Brady works. I expect Giants QB Eli Manning will be was named MVP.
Peyton, watching from the box and winner of last year’s Super Bowl, was estatic.

Posted by Nova Democrat | Sunday, February 3, 2008, 10:28 pmEven though I was pulling for NE, I can’t say I am upset by this win. The Giants worked hard for this championship and deserve it.
What an incredible game!!!
Posted by Scott | Sunday, February 3, 2008, 10:28 pmMy son said all week that NY would win. “But son, the Patriots are 18-0″. Nope, he said Giants.
I explained that Brady had ecperience in the big game and Eli would be rattled.
Nope. Giants, he would say.
I also explained that no NFC wild card team had made it to the Super Bowl, let alone win it.
Nope, Giants he said.
My son is 4. Maybe HE should pick my stocks!

Posted by vjp | Sunday, February 3, 2008, 11:22 pmMy favorite part was that the Pats scored even few points than Plaxico Burress predicted. Brady’s incredulous “we’re only going to score 17 points?!” is like a sweet, sweet meringue made of irony topping his helping of humble pie.
In all seriousness, what a fun game to watch. It was way more engaging than I was expecting.
Posted by anonymous | Monday, February 4, 2008, 12:17 amThe Patriots came with their best game. The Giants were just a little better.
Had the Pats won, Welker would have been MVP. He was unreal.
A fantastic game.

Posted by HMR | Monday, February 4, 2008, 12:30 amI’m a Pats fan. Red Sox. Celtics. I hail from NY. But my home for more years as an adult has been Boston. I congratulate the Giants for an amazing win.
Having said that, I think HMR’s comment was nasty, negative, mean-spirited and poor sportsmanship.
Posted by Delia Delaney | Monday, February 4, 2008, 1:16 pmrudy lost and the giants won i say that’s a good thing.
Posted by JACK STILES | Monday, February 4, 2008, 3:53 pmHey Delia Delaney … it is only nasty if it wasn’t true. Now there is MORE talk of MORE cheating by that coach?!?!
Maybe he should not have chosen last night to try on a new style of sweatshirt.
