Warner Norfolk Kickoff May 5

Warner kickoff announcement

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Will Governor Dukakis be giving rides in tanks?

Why doesn’t the good Governor hold his press conference at the mall or say Christopher Newport University where his most famous and longest lastest accomplishments have been made?

Yes, raising the statewide sales tax, and working with Governor Kaine to double the tuition at Christopher Newport. Instead he is going to pose on a battleship to try and give people the impression he has an inkling of military experience, of which he has none, nada, zip, zero, zilch.

Governor Jim Gilmore will tower over him on the National Security issue, it’s a wonder Warner’s staff didn’t choose an aircraft carrier, which is larger, and…. well, you’d have to have an inkling about the military to know that the carriers are larger than….

That’s right aircraft carriers have jets, and it will remind people of how how he raised our taxes and college tuition… now that is kinda smart.

But then again a battleship can hurl a projectile the size of a Volkswagon 20 miles! Wait a minute, don’t say that because Governor Warner pledged to eliminate the Car Tax in his first or second year in office…. muchless not raise taxes at all…

Thanks for the post Vivian, you’re the best!

  2. Actually, Spank, he’s announcing at various locations across the Commonwealth. Given the military presence in Hampton Roads, the Wisconsin is a perfect choice.

Gilmore, if he can manage to wrestle the nomination from Bob Marshall, will be roadkill come November. Warner will absolutely cream him. But see, I don’t have to go over to the pro-Gilmore or pro-Marshall sites to say that. The mere fact that you had to come over here and post indicates just how far Gilmore or Marshall has to go.

Rick – not sure what is yucky about an announcement.

  3. VJP:
So Democrat/ic blogs are off limits to issues based comments? I have Warner people come over to STD all the time.

Why not respond to exactly how Governor Warner is going to overcome the multiple issues I laid out? Tell me how wrong I am. You know launch a couple of them volkswagon sized issues back over my way ;-)

I think Governor Warner’s only hope is that he does get Marshall…

  4. Three words regarding VJP’s response:
    You. Go. Girl!

And yes, Mark Warner will mop the floor with Gilmore. I’m looking forward to the debates this fall.

Sounds like the qualifications of our current President… My God, he’s in the wrong race – he could be President! Perhaps he can even spring for a “Mission Accomplished” banner when he beats Gilmore!

  7. Spank – no Democratic blogs aren’t off-limits. Your “issues” are your own. And launching missiles ain’t my cup of tea.

Mark Warner is simply a better candidate than either Jim “No Car Tax” Gilmore or Bob “Virginia’s Chief Homophobe” Marshall.
