Hmm – football or RNC?

The Washington Redskins open their season on the road tonight at the New York Giants, last year’s Super Bowl winner.

So, what’s a political Redskins fan to do? Watch the game or watch the Republican National Convention? Decisions, decisions ;)

And a bigger question: who’s hosting tonight’s RNC watching session? We had so much fun over at MB’s place last night

They’re playing the Giants. As a ’skins fan, you may not want to watch.

I vote for watching the game. I first became a fan of the “Washington Redskins” years ago…when Billy Kilmer (#17) was the QB. However, I developed a crush on Terry Bradshaw and swithched to the “Steelers”… Of course, those four SuperBowl wins helped…lol

However, I come from a four generation hockey family and just completed a post on this topic. It’s a bit of a different “view” than Palin described…a LOT different.

Thanks for creating a great site and I plan to visit often.

Vivian, you have to go with the ’skins…besides, McCain won’t be speaking until later in the evening, and I have a hunch this game won’t be close one way or the other!

Mouse – remember the Skins did pretty well against the Giants last year. Besides, the team is different this year, with retirements and trades.

Michelle – interesting take you have on your site about the hockey moms ;)

bwana – I decided it was easier to do both ;)

Oh – and I’m hosting tonight. Ought to be fun!

The Redskins are going to overperform tonight, as the Giants are missing both of their starting defensive ends, eliminating the advantage of edge-speed they displayed so prominently against New Englands offensive line in the championship game last year. The Skins may still not win the game, but they’ll make it exciting.

I will be in 日本語 class tonight, so I’ll probably miss both. :-(

Still, the class is a lot of fun. :-)

After watching the 1rst Quarter, that’s a tough call.
I have ZERO confidence in Campbell and Zorn’s got some big shoes to fill. Collins should be starting.
I’m worried about Portis staying healthy and not too thrilled about Jensen being sidelined. It’s going to be a long season.
Sigh….even with all that, I can’t bring myself to watch the RNC….I think I’ll just do laundry.

well, i guess you can get both since Joe Gibbs just finished speaking at the convention.

At least Moss is doing pretty well tonight.
I figured out a “solution” to the dilemma of Redskins vs. Politics. As a political. “parrothead” who loves her Skins I’m watching the game w/out sound, surfing the political blogs, and listening to Jimmy Buffett’s live show from Boston :-D

Okay so I thought I’d come back and admit that I was completely wrong about the Skins overperforming.

You weren’t alone in that assessment, unfortunately :(
