Bay Oaks resolved

The City of Norfolk and the Bay Oaks Park Committee have come to a resolution on the 21 acres of land located between 3rd Bay and 7th Bay Streets:

Councilman Don Williams suggested that 11 acres between 3rd Bay to 5th Bay be set aside as a park and that the 10 acres between 5th Bay to 7th Bay be developed into housing.

I ran into Committee Chair Bill Kerry Tuesday night and he was pleased with the resolution. “This is what we’ve wanted all along,” Kerry told me.

The Bay Oaks saga has been going on for five years. Kudos to both sides for finally getting this done.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
