The Virginian Pilot’s editorial board weighed in on a possible gubernatorial run by former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe. The headline pretty much sums up the board’s feelings:
Change we need isn’t Terry McAuliffe
The editorial says McAuliffe isn’t qualified to be governor and suggests he “reconsider” running for governor of New York or Florida.
He’d probably fit in better on Broadway than he would in downtown Suffolk.
Well, with his 30-locality tour campaigning for Obama and Warner on tap, I think McAuliffe is going to get a real good taste of Virgina. And Virginia is going to get a real good taste of him. At the end, we’ll see just whom ends up with a bad taste in their mouths
Pilot doesn’t like McAuliffe
Does anyone whose last name isn’t Clinton like Terry McAuliffe? That said, I hope that he runs.
Posted by Brian | Thursday, September 18, 2008, 2:12 pmI don’t mind Terry, but I agree that he should consider running for governor of another state. While Virginia is in a red-to-blue “transition faze,” the Republicans would beat him by painting him as an ultra liberal Democrat just on the fact that he was chair of the DNC.
Posted by Terry Carter | Thursday, September 18, 2008, 2:18 pmTerry running would put us at a disadvantage in the general. But he’d screw the primary too; is there any doubt he’d take the negative up 10 notches?
Posted by Ian Jordan | Thursday, September 18, 2008, 2:46 pmWEll I like Terry AND Dickie Cranwell. At least they ACT like Democrts!
Posted by on the road again | Friday, September 19, 2008, 4:47 pm“Whom” is incorrect here. The pronoun “who” is the subject of the clause, “who ends up with a bad taste in their mouths,” not the direct object of the verb “see.”
