I guess this is the poll that Tim Kaine was referring to in his email yesterday. With six weeks to go, Glenn Nye has closed to within five points, 40%-45%.

From a telephone survey conducted among 400 likely voters in the Second Congressional District of Virginia. Interviews were conducted September21-22, 2008. The sampling error for this survey is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
Other tidbiits:
- Nye’s name recognition is up significantly – to 49%. As his name ID increases, this race will get even tighter. This confirms my earlier suspiscions that this race had gotten close.
- Drake has a net negative job rating. 45% rate Drake’s performance as a member of Congress as “excellent” or “good” while 47% rate her performance as “only fair” or “poor.”
- Drake’s overall favorable rating is narrowing. The poll shows that it is 42%+/35%-. In May, that number was 48%+/29%-
Nye is already airing his second TV ad, but as always, he can use some help. And money is always a good way to help
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, from the 20th district in Florida, is the headliner at an upcoming fundraiser for Nye. The event will be held Monday, October 6 from 12pm to 1:30pm at the Town Point Club. For more details, contact Melissa at 216-9240 or by email.
No hyphen in Wasserman Schultz.
Posted by silence dogood | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 1:44 pmWell, I copied it straight from the invitation so I guess I’d better let someone above my pay grade know about it
Posted by vjp | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 1:47 pmEveryone always does it, and she keeps wondering why everyone thinks she’s the sort of person who would hyphenate her name.
Posted by silence dogood | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 1:52 pmVivian – Any link to the poll or is this from the Nye campaign? Just looking for more info.
Posted by Jason | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 2:13 pmJason – this came from the Nye campaign. I don’t have any more info.
Posted by vjp | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 3:06 pmNo wonder Thelma’s been lobbing residence attacks.
Posted by Ian Jordan | Thursday, September 25, 2008, 5:22 pmIt’s sort of like traditional family values, Ian. Residency requirements are for other people’s families.
