I started this blog to talk about local politics, specifically Norfolk politics. It is impossible
to talk about Norfolk in a vacuum, so you'll also find some regional, state, and national politics. And sometimes, no politics at all.
The inspiration for this blog comes from one of Virginia's most respected forefathers:
"I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power."
Thomas Jefferson, 1820

Appropriate in that Chris Rock played the first African-American to become President in “Head of State”.
(If you haven’t seen the movie, get it on video.)
You are the 2nd person today who has mentioned that movie. I guess I need to go rent it or something.
why don’t they invite rev. wright & colin powell to the event also.
