First blog from NPR

bloggersJust arrived at the NPR HQ and took a quick shot of other early arrivals. Right now, a lot of the bloggers in the room are from NPR – at least most of the guys :)

On a local note – I see that there was an equipment problem this morning in Chesapeake. Fortunately, the problem was fixed.

As I reported on my Twitter account, my own precinct had record turnout today, even though there was no one in line when I stopped by. Perhaps it was all of those folks who were in line with me last Friday :( I did get a report earlier that about 50% of eligible voters in VA had voted absentee – but as I’ve been away from the computer most of the day, I haven’t confirmed that.

More to come.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Can anyone explain to me why there was such as high absentee ballot count this year in many states? I don’t mean the physical number of ballots, but the actual percentage is very high.

  2. I would guess that the reason is that so many people were afraid that the lines today would be too long.

But I’ve not heard anything specific.
