WELCOME
I learned a lot about politics as the result of my run for City
Treasurer. This blog is my way of staying in touch with those who supported me and reaching out to those who did not.
The primary focus of this blog is Norfolk politics. Of course, you can't talk about Norfolk in a vacuum, so sprinkled in are some regional, state, and national politics. And sometimes, no politics at all.
The inspiration for this blog comes from one of Virginia's most respected forefathers:
"I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power."
Thomas Jefferson, 1820
I hope you enjoy your visit!

Home of the big tent?
Are moderates going to be welcome in the tent or are we going to continue to be described as naive and annoying?
I can provide the quotes.
Darn, us independents are just so, what is the word for it? Independent.
But I am strengthened by the thought it is guys like me that decide who wins elections. Not always, but everybody I voted for won last election.
(He chortles with glee.)
In other words, it’s all about you. The affect of independence, the faux consideration of issues, etc. It’s all Look at Me!
Whatever.
MB,
And what issues where so important to you that I ignored them?
Whatever.
Exactly MB, “it is all about you”, its your vote so own it, its yours and its one of the few things left in this world that is sacred to the individual (at least in this country) and may any agenda seeking to override secret balloting die a swift death.
