From the Wagner for LG campaign

A couple of things from Jody Wagner’s campaign.

First, the campaign announced some endorsements from Northern Virginia elected officials.

Public officials endorsing Wagner today include:

  • Kerry Donley, Former Mayor, Alexandria
  • Paul Ebert, Commissioner of Revenue, Manassas
  • Barbara Favola, Vice Chair, County Board, Arlington
  • Ludwig Gaines, City Council, Alexandria
  • Penny Gross, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors – Mason District
  • Gerry Hyland, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors – Mount Vernon District
  • Rob Krupicka, City Council, Alexandria
  • Jeff Mckay, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors – Lee District
  • Ray Morrogh, Commonwealth Attorney, City of Fairfax
  • Justin Wilson, City Council, Alexandria
  • Chris Zimmerman, County Board, Arlington

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Um, Paul Ebert is the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney, not the Manassas Commissioner of the Revenue. That is John Grzejka, a Republican, and would be a fantastic endorsement. :)

  2. I’ve always thought that endorsements don’t necessarily mean much in a race, but even Bowerbank supporters have to admit that Wagner has definitely been winning the endorsement race. It’s also impressive that she seems to be rolling out relatively long lists on a consistent basis.

That being said, I think it’s important to see which campaign has the better ground game in a few months. The field staff and volunteer organization, in my opinion, is more important than the list of endorsements.

Based on the conversations I’ve had with Jon Bowerbank I think he has the ability to really inspire grassroots action. While I haven’t met his new campaign manager, the folks on his team I have met really seem to know what they’re doing. I haven’t met Jody or anyone on her campaign, so I cannot comment on their abilities.

  3. Heh. I just copied it from the press release. I’ll send the info on to the campaign.

  4. You’ve never met EP? She ran the coordinated campaign this past cycle. She’s indescribably good.
