    Vivian,

I am just wondering why you thought this song was so appropriate?

You provided this song without any commentary whatsoever.

You’re sucking the humor out of it. You really are.

    Vivian,

I think you are upset about Tom Moss getting the support of the local big wigs in the democratic party for a 3rd term as treasurer. You need to face the fact that you are not going to get the democratic nomination next year and you will never, ever be Treasurer!

I came back with this link to say I thought this was the meaning, and I find Mike C.’s little valentine above. Nice.

Vivian, this man is 80 years old and just figured out how to make computers work. He returned a check uncashed because it was too big, instead of issuing a credit and a refund. In his years in the General Assembly, he has stabbed a lot more people in the back than you could count.

If you want to run, then run. You will be doing the voters a favor. His dirty tricks are well known and won’t work this time — you have the internet.

    Spotter,

You obviously don’t understand how politics work, do you? The only peron who may side with her is Yvonne Miller and that ain’t saying much. Other than that, she has burned her bridges with people especially with calling Paula Miller a b****! Those kind of comments will get you nowhere. Vivian is nothing but a wannabe and never will be!!

Well, “Mike C.”, you certainly get the Virginia Wanker of the Day award. Maybe you could give us your whole name so we can speculate on your many faults and failures? Douchebag.

Now, I’m the first to admit that I’m not exactly plugged in to the Norfolk back room scene, but from out here in the sunlight, it’s pretty clear to me who’s the hardworking and committed Democrat, here. And it should be just as clear to any other hardworking and committed Democrat. From the coverage I’ve seen so far, there’s a lot of Norfolk Dems who have some serious explaining to do.

Why run for Treasurer anyway? Yes, Tom Moss is a corrupt sleazebag.

However, why not run for City Council in 2010? Vivian lives in Paul Riddick’s ward, and many of the people lining up behind Moss for Treasurer would back a challenge of Riddick.

vivian burned her bridges – instead of her blaming everyone for her loss in 2005 – she should have realized the reality that she ran against moss who was an institution and several people ran and she lost. That was it!

But she blamed everyone for her loss and burned bridges. Now she seems to be perplexed that the people who supported her don’t now.

Unfortunate but hopefully she sees the writing on the wall. But true to her form she will continue to blame THEM (whoever that is).

    A former supporter!

Right, G, and Tom Moss has no character flaws whatsoever. He’s a regular Mother Teresa, that guy. As well as a life-long Democrat (except when it suits him otherwise).

I don’t know what’s going on, cuz I’m not a regular of Vivian’s blog. I know her from other online circles, admire her, and respect her. So, I’m giving her a big (hug).

wow, if you guys feel that way about Vivian why are you reading her blog. Tom Moss needs to go home, sit on his front porch and enjoy retirement. Besides, what has he done recently (politically) to enjoy this kind of loyalty??? Come on people, can’t we all get along?

The Democratic Party of Norfolk is just one defeat away from reform. As a Dem, I see and smell the arrogance of some in the party. The backroom deal making is so unfortunate. Openess and fairness in the political process is the point that Vivian was trying to make in this post. If Vivian wanted to run for Treasurer, the primary process should not be pre-determined. Let all Democrats decide who should represent them as their candidiate.
