In phone calls as well as by email, Democratic Party Chair C. Richard Cranwell announced today that he will not seek the party’s nomination for LG. This is not altogether unexpected. I’ve been hearing for about a month now that Cranwell would not run.
According to The Richmond Times Dispatch, there still may be a third candidate to face Jody Wagner and Jon Bowerbank.
A Richmond political consultant, Rich Savage, is considering seeking the 2009 Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.
If he gets in, Savage will have some work to do.
