American Idol Results 04/15/09

American Idol LogoTuesday’s show was strange for me. Most of the performances, I thought, were subpar. Heading into the results show, I figured just about anyone (except Allison) could end up in the bottom three.

The first contestant in the bottom three was — once again — Anoop. I think this kid has an awesome voice but he a) keeps choosing the wrong songs and b) just doesn’t look the Iook the part. I think those are the reasons why he keeps ending up in the bottom three.

Jennifer Hudson, former Idol contestant, performed tonight. It’s easy to see why she has done as well as she has. Tremendous talent.

Next to be added to the bottom three was Lil, who seems to not really understand who she is. She could learn a bit by listening to Jennifer Hudson.

Rounding out the bottom three was Matt. Shortly thereafter, Anoop was deemed safe.

With the choice between Lil and Matt being eliminated, this was the first time I could see the judges exercising their save. Both of these contestants are talented, although they have made mistakes in song choice and arrangement.

The contestant getting the lowest number of votes was Matt.  After he sang again, the judges decided to save him.  As the result, two people will be eliminated next week.

By the way – the theme next week is disco. That ought to be interesting.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  3. I’m afraid you’re right, Gene.

P.S. Does disco mean we’ll be hearing ABBA tunes?
