American Idol 05/13/09 results: the final two

American Idol LogoI was on vacation last week so I didn’t post about American Idol. Of course, that doesn’t mean I didn’t watch the shows ;) I was really disappointed that Alison was voted off. Danny did a horrible job on the genre (rock), while she excelled. I’m joining those who think the show is rigged.

Tuesday night the three guys each sang two songs: one chosen by the judges and one chosen by the contestant. None of the performances left an impression on me, perhaps because I didn’t know but one of the songs. Apparently I wasn’t alone: looking at idoldial prior to Wednesday night’s show, each of them had about the same chance of being voted off.

Much of tonight’s show was footage of the three contestants’ visits home. Great waste of time. There was also a performance by Jordin Sparks, winner of Season 6. As I watched her perform, I wondered what the judges would have said about it. “Dancing was a little contrived” and “poor song choice” came to mind ;)

At about 12 minutes before the end of the show, Danny expressed my sentiments: just get this over with. “No more commercials,” he said. Instead of a commercial, we were “treated” to a performance by a bad singer in a skimpy costume, Katy Kerry.

It was 9:56 – four minutes left in the show – before we learned that the two finalists would be Kris and Adam. Danny was the odd man out.

Next week, the finals. Let me go out on a limb here ;) I predict Adam will be the winner.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Kris should have been the one to go. He might be “cute” but he can’t really sing. Danny’s performance of “You are so beautiful” Tuesday night I felt was outstanding. – Oh, well, that’s the way the cookie crumbles!

  2. If we’re going to play the “shoulda” game, Danny should have gone home a week ago instead of Allison.

  3. Agree on Allison! Definitely! She’s a “pistol”.
