It’s funny. Deeds won’t cut taxes like Bush did, and then yes he will, and tax cuts take money from education, except his won’t, but everyone else’s will, and he’s not like them, but he is, but not really.

I know when unemployment was super low, when the Virginia economy was expanding at more than 3% in real dollars term, when wages were increasing, when asset prices were increasing at double digit rates. OH the humanity! It was awful, just awful! Who wants to go back to that? =)

I recall the ads from Warner where the announcer actually said, “…He’s a good ol’ boy from Nova-ville…”

At the time I thought, “How patronizing and insulting to Virginians…Warner must think we are a bunch of hay-seed idiots, here in Virginia.”

About a week later, while I was out at the Pork festival or the Peanut festival, or similar gathering of the bubbas, I stopped a group of five farmers who were all wearing those orange, “Sportsmen for Warner” stickers. I laughed and said, “You must be joking with those stickers…Warner doesn’t even know which end of the gun goes, bang.”

The men all professed to be true supporters, then one fellow said, “I heard he is a good ol’ boy, from Novaville” parroting the exact hook phrase from the ads.

These radio ads are all insulting and patronizing, but until we get a better informed voter, we should expect more ads of chirpy professional moms providing thoughtful political insights to their usually befuddled husband, followed by the omnipresent, “…hmmmm, that’s why I will be supporting Creigh Deeds…” (or fill in who you like).

Never mind this ad or any ideas about reviving Virginia’s economy, or enhancing our liberty, I am supporting Creigh Deeds because I heard that he is a good ol’ boy from Bath-ville and that is good enuf fo Vuhginya.
