Transportation in Hampton Roads

July 2, 2009:

That we have a transportation problem in Hampton Roads is no surprise. Part of the problem is that we have not received our share of resources for the projects the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) deems important. A big reason for that is the past refusal of the HRTPO to prioritize the construction projects. Recognizing this, the HRTPO agreed this week to rank the projects and are asking the opinion of residents to help them.

The organization’s website includes a link to a 15-minute survey, designed for this purpose. The survey will be open through September 30, after which the results will be made available to the public.

It’s a step in the right direction, albeit a late one. Go on over, complete the survey and have your voice heard.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
