Rings around the moon

Last night, the talk on Twitter was about the moon. These two pictures were taken about midnight, when the moon was directly overhead. (Click to enlarge.) I can tell you – the pictures don’t capture the way things looked out there. The ring was so large and the moon so bright that it reminded me of all those pictures of alien spaceships sucking people up :) (Kinda like this commercial.)

  2. Funny, the moon was quite remarkable here last night, but for it’s moonrise size. No rings to be seen.
