Fun stuff, National, Politics

Um, OK

Those of you in Hampton Roads may recognize the anchor in this news clip. But he wasn’t the star.

Meet Basil Marceaux, candidate for Governor of Tennessee.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Saw Basil on another politico show last night, too. So when I think we’ve got bad elected officials in Hampton Roads just look at what Tennessee may get!!

  2. See, people used to tell me they thought Creigh Deeds wasn’t an eloquent enough public speaker to run for Governor. I guess they may have had a point, but I tended to think of Creigh as at least moderately articulate because I’ve met people like Basil Marceaux.

…on a side note: I’d wager money that he’d be able to get 35% of the vote in Louisiana.

    • Even though he is not running in Louisiana? I could see that. =)

      • I meant that if he were running in LA, he’d be able to &c. Although, honestly, it’s Louisiana. I could totally see them accidentally putting a TN candidate on their ballot. Hell, I’m amazed they spell the name right on their license plates.

  5. I went to his website. Better. It makes me think this is why Democracy is beautiful.

“My friends a beer stores say they must check 200 D/L a day that 400 minutes a day per clerk which is over 6 hours at $ 7.00 a hour that $ 42.00, with it mandatory then we must pay them.” – Basil Marceaux Sr.

    Truer words were never spoken.

  6. Tom is a class act – he did a great job while here in Hampton Roads – sad WTKR has become more tabloid and the weekday weather guy still can’t say the names of towns correctly.
