In need of a civic renaissance

The above is the title of my latest column, which appeared in Wednesday’s Virginian-Pilot. As noted in the article, the transcripts of the House hearings can be found on the state’s redistricting website. (Just so happens that when I attended the Norfolk hearing, I noticed that there was a court reporter there. I then asked the staff if they could post the transcripts online. And, thankfully, they did. Now if we can get the Senate hearings online that would be useful as well.)

Also, if you are interested, the work of Better Together, including the report I cited, can be found on its website.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

One Response to “In need of a civic renaissance”

  1. I notice that the VA Constitution says, “Every electoral district shall be composed of contiguous and compact territory….”

I refer again to Scott’s district.
