Savage’s firm wins Pollie

Media Directions, the Richmond-based firm, won the top award for one of its mail pieces in the last election. The award, known in the industry as a “Pollie,” is one of several given by The American Association of Political Consultants. This particular Pollie was given to the best mail piece – Republican or Democratic – in the U.S. House general elections in 2010. The piece, entitled “Bilbray After Dark,” was produced for challenger Francine Busby who ran in California’s 50th Congressional House District  race. The winning piece can be viewed on the company’s website.

The firm, headed Rich Savage, has previously won Pollies in other categories. Of this win, Savage said:

It’s an incredible honor when you think about the enormous amount of direct mail pieces that are produced nationally in Congressional elections each year. I share this honor with every mail consultant who thinks creatively and works hard to make a difference.

Savage was briefly a candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 2009, which was when I first met him. Congratulations, my friend, on this award.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
