Fun stuff, Hampton Roads, Norfolk

Out in the Park returns to Norfolk

This Sunday, Out in the Park will be held in Norfolk’s Town Point Park after five years in Chesapeake. With 8,000 attendees last year, it is expected that 10,000 will attend this year. That is a far cry from the much smaller numbers the premiere GLBT event in Hampton Roads garnered in 2005 when I attended it at Lakewood Park. That the event has grown so much is a testament to Hampton Roads Pride, the organization which hosts the event.

The lineup is impressive, with both local and national acts among those performing. Vendors will be onsite and a boat parade is planned

Noon til 6 Sunday, June 5. See you there!

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
