Norfolk council presentations: Waterside, CSB

In its informal session yesterday, Norfolk City Council received a presentation on the proposals for Waterside. The document that was presented is here (pdf) and the video is here.

Of equal interest to me in the session yesterday was an update on the Community Services Board. City Manager Marcus Jones’ information on how to handle the CSB moving forward is in this document (pdf). Bottom line is that Jones would like the agency to be brought into the city.

But that wasn’t the best part of the meeting regarding the CSB. Check out Councilman Andy Protogyrou questioning the City Attorney (starts about 16 minutes in).

Must watch TV :)

Seriously, though – I’m glad the council had these two discussions in public. We’re making baby steps on transparency in Norfolk, and this is another one of those.

Update 2/6/12: The pdf file containing the presentation was moved on the city’s website. I’ve obtained a copy and updated the link.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
