The League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads and the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast have teamed up to host an International Women’s Day celebration in Norfolk tomorrow.
Women are definitely in the news! The League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads, the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast and all of those interested in celebrating the spirit and accomplishments of women and girls are invited to Join Us on the Bridge as we celebrate the 101st International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is “Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures”.
Organizer Linda Armstrong says “this event is our opportunity to celebrate the efforts of the many women who have come before us and opened doors that have helped empower our generation of women and girls. There is still much work to do to help women of all ages around the world”. Bring a scarf to wave, make a poster if you wish, bring a friend and join us in Norfolk at Pagoda Friendship Park, 365 Tazewell Street from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. this Thursday, March 8th. This event and parking are free.
