Candidates’ list: Norfolk City Council

On May 1, voters in Norfolk will elect two members of the eight-member city council. Norfolk employs a ward system. This election covers the two superwards, which each represent half of the city.

Norfolk, like other Virginia localities, adopted a redistricting plan last year. The plan, approved by the U.S. Justice Department, moves a single precinct for this election: Barron Black, my precinct, was moved from Ward 6 to Ward 7.

Unlike most other Virginia localities, Norfolk does not elect its school board so these two races will be the only ones on the ballot.

  1. Thanks for the list. Barclay Winn in a Landslide. The amount of candidates along with the money makes his path to Re-election easier .
