But not for a debate. The Virginian-Pilot reports that the two former governors will appear separately at a luncheon hosted by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce on October 19. The event will be held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.
I saw this two-step in 2009 when gubernatorial candidates Bob McDonnell and Creigh Deeds appeared one after the other. It happened to have been the day that former Gov. Wilder announced his non-endorsement in that race. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see the same thing happen again.
I guess this is the closest we get to a debate between these two here – and in the middle of the day, no less.
