Hester announces for 89th, rolls out endorsements

As expected, former Norfolk council member/vice mayor Daun Hester has officially entered the race for the 89th House of Delegates. With Tuesday’s election of Kenny Alexander to the 5th Senate seat, which became open due to the death of longtime Senator Yvonne Miller, the House seat he formerly held will become vacant once he is sworn in.

Hester’s announcement appeared on her Facebook page last night, and included a link to her website, where she has included a list of endorsements secured so far.

The 89th House District lies completely within the city limits of Norfolk. The city’s Democratic Committee is planning to hold a caucus to nominate the candidate, who, at this time, faces no opposition.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
