Skins: 1-1

Why am I not surprised that the Washington Redskins lost yesterday? Such is the life of a fan – the ups and downs, and in recent years, a lot of downs. Sunday’s game certainly was a downer. The ‘Skins defense needs a lot of work.

I’m not going to blame the loss on that boneheaded play at the end. There were too many other things happening during the game that put Washington in that position in the first place. The defensive secondary is pretty bad, which puts more pressure on the D-line and linebackers. Whenever someone broke through the line, it was glaringly obvious how weak the secondary is.

The offense has to learn how to grind it out. Scoring quickly may be fun, but unless you do it every time, the defense ends up spending too much time on the field.

Oh well. There’s always next week.

  1. And have you seen the schedule? They’re saving the best for last. A bye in Week 10, then 5 of the last 7 are NFC East games.
