Fairfax Chamber debate

Former governors Allen & Kaine – from the Richmond Times Dispatch

Last Thursday, U.S. Senate hopefuls Tim Kaine and George Allen squared off in a debate hosted by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. The debate was broadcast to local TV and was available for live-streaming on the internet, although on my end, the live stream wasn’t very good.

Friday, the Kaine campaign announced that they had accepted a debate in Hampton Roads, to be co-hosted by CNN and WVEC but the Allen campaign said no. So Hampton Roads, which has “netted more campaign-ad purchases – 640 – than any other TV market in the country,” can’t get a Senate debate hosted here.

Sad.

Here’s last Thursday’s debate in its entirety.

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
