National Voter Registration Day

Today is National Voter Registration Day. Across the country, groups are organizing for a push to get voters registered. If you aren’t registered, you can do so via this tool. You can also visit your local registrar or the Virginia State Board of Elections website.

The last day to register is October 15.

Already registered? Check your status to be sure. (Virginia is mailing voter registration cards to all registered voters. I received my new card over the weekend.)

Note that if you have moved, married, changed your name or had other changes, you need to update your voter registration. The deadline for doing that is also October 15.

Of course, being registered is just the first step. You still have to show up on November 6 and vote.

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!
