JMDD bill on closing the gun show loophole – voted no because it puts pressure on small dealers, no need to put new burdens on law-abiding citizens. 2% of all guns illegally owned came from gun shows.
Hasn’t come to a conclusion on how he will vote on the transportation bill.
Discussed a bill he got thru the Finance committee 15-0 that generates revenues without raising taxes: withholding on out-of-state owners of pass-through entities. Hm – I think this bill will be onerous on small businesses – and said so.
Talked about the need to do zero-based budgeting – needs executive leadership. He has no heartburn with a two-term governor, provided that some of the powers are removed.
Who are these people and why should I care what they think?
Well, Bill Bolling is the Lt. Governor, Mark Obershain is the Senator from the 26th, Tim Hugo is the Delegate from the 40th and Boyd Marcus is probably the best known campaign consultant/manager for the Republicans.
