WELCOME
I started this blog to talk about local politics, specifically Norfolk politics. It is impossible
to talk about Norfolk in a vacuum, so you'll also find some regional, state, and national politics. And sometimes, no politics at all.
The inspiration for this blog comes from one of Virginia's most respected forefathers:
"I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power."
Thomas Jefferson, 1820

Congratulations Vivian for making the list!!
And one that is glaringly missing…
Congratulations Vivian!
Hi Vivian. Thanks for linking to my post…The list has now grown to over 200 women political bloggers. Thanks for the additional links.
Catherine

but I do like your blog.
Gosh, Grumpy, could you possibly talking about that great blog that is this week ranked as the 4th most influential blog in Virginia?
Thanks Vivian for pointing me in the direction of this list. Some very good blogs on it. And congrats!
Vivian,
I am so hurt. BNN has two pages devoted to women bloggers — Southern conservatives at http://www.blognetnews.com/cotillion and a group of liberal at http://www.blognetnews.com/great_dames — a list of which you are a part.
Where is all the love?
I just pushed myself to the front of the line yelling “list me,” “list me”!
Thanks for pointing this out. A lot of very interesting blogs on that list.
Well, thanks for the congrats but really, all I was trying to do was to point out that somebody had put together a list. And Dave, I think I did mention the great dames list when you first started it.
By the way – when I submitted additional names, I only did blogs that were all women. Carla – sorry I missed yours. I was in a hurry.
