The IRS has set up a special Free File page for folks who normally do not have to file but are required to do so in order to get the economic stimulus plan refunds, which I discussed in this post. I’m glad that the IRS and its partners worked this out. Of course, you can still file on paper, but filing electronically will be faster and easier.
UPDATE: The IRS has set up a calculator for you to see how much of a payment you can expect. The calculator is here. The payment schedule, based on the last 2 digits of your Social Security number, is here.
There does not seem to be any real clear answer as to the Updated schedule for those who had their refunds direct deposited. My original date was listed as May 9th. But they changed when they started depositing the payment, and I can not find a clear answer as to how much sooner that makes the deposit.

In the past, the IRS has only direct deposited on Fridays, so I’m not sure what has changed.
