I started this blog to talk about local politics, specifically Norfolk politics. It is impossible
to talk about Norfolk in a vacuum, so you'll also find some regional, state, and national politics. And sometimes, no politics at all.
The inspiration for this blog comes from one of Virginia's most respected forefathers:
"I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power."
Thomas Jefferson, 1820

I missed two, and on one of the answers I got right I guessed. It was an educated guess, but…
I’d be willing to place a wager that the majority of citizens that own citizenship by birthright couldn’t pass it.
100%!
Maybe I should teach remedial citizenship classes for the natural-born.
Got them all right. It is certainly disappointing to know that so many people in our country cannot even answer such simple questions about our country’s government and history.
It is my understanding that a majority of Americans (naturally born or not) can not even point out Iraq on a world map.
I missed one.
My truth-o-meter is starting to peg.
20 for 20!
100%. Guess I don’t have to turn in that Government degree. Whew.
Greetings Earthlings!
I’m a grade school drop-out, but I got all of them right, easily! I had to drop out of school when I was 6 to support my widowed mother. My father, a sharecropper, was killed in a wood chipper. I had to work 16 hours a day in a condom factory. It might sound like I had a tough childhood, but it taught me a very good lesson. I worked very hard all my life, and I even ran for the animal control council. While I was not successful in my endeavor, it taught me a very valuable lesson. I subsequently enrolled in night school and consequently I am now a medical doctor and a lawyer so I sue myself for malpractice in this greatest country on God’s green earth.
Hail Anniversary of the Conception of Your “United” States!
Hail Zontar!
I got them all right, but I did have to stop and think a couple times.
100%!! Not too shabby.
I missed two, miss read question.
100%. I wouldn’t have been able to remember the number of amendments if it hadn’t been multiple choice, truth be told, I just remembered enough of them to eliminate the rest of the answers.
