Timeless: “Cry Me A River”

One of my favorite songs. First, the 1957 original from the sultry Julie London (this is the version I keep in my CD player in my car):

Covered in 1975 by The First Lady of Song, Newport News own Ella Fitzgerald, with one of the finest guitar players, Joe Pass:

Finally, this 2007 cover by Diana Krall. Fifty years later, the song comes full circle:

(Happy now, MB? ;) )

PS – I think the cover MB mentions in the comments that he’s looking for is this one ;)

About Vivian J. Paige

A former candidate, I've learned a lot about politics, both good and bad. I'd prefer more of the former and a lot less of the latter and I'm trying to do my part!

  1. Yes!

(now all I have to do is a find a recording of a certain someone covering this. I’m sure it exists . . .)

  2. Man oh man, isn’t that song the truth. I know I’ve cried at least a lake full of tears over a couple of men who couldn’t see past the tip of their nose, but I’m done with cryin. Live and learn. :-)
