Apparently, an official-looking but phony flier is being circulated in Hampton Roads. From PilotOnline:
A phony State Board of Elections flier advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5 is being circulated in several Hampton Roads localities, according to state election officials.
In fact, Election Day for voters of all political stripes remains Nov. 4.
The lengths people will go to in order to try to suppress voter turnout.
All the more reason to take advantage, if you can, of absentee voting. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is tomorrow, October 28.

I assumed that this was going to be some kind of parody when I heard about it. But reading that flier, it’s clearly meant to be taken as real.
This is somewhere among the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. I’ll add this to my list of reasons why I’ll never go back to the GOP.

This is making national headlines. Rachel Maddow talked about it on her show on MSNBC tonight.
This is completely disgusting. For all their talk about promoting “freedom” and “democracy” abroad, its obvious that the Republicans would run over their own relatives just to keep Democrats from voting. I guess voting is only good when you’re supporting conservative extremists. This is classic Jeff Frederick behavior, and I hope the RPV is called out on it. Its a sad day in Virginia when RPV thugs think they can do whatever they want and try to mislead ANY voter.

OK then. Let’s allow ACORN to produce and distribute a similarly worded “official looking form” to the voters of Ohio that announces anyone voting Republican should vote on the 5th instead of the 4th. Any Republican that fell victim to the disinformation wasn’t intelligent enough to vote anyway.

Seems to me both parties have their supporters that are willing to cross the line into what could be described as criminal activity to give their side the upper hand come election day.

Its funny that you mention this, because I feel the same way every time I hear a Republican/Reagan “Democrat” say Barack Obama is a Muslim or Arab, or that he doesn’t salute the flag or support the troops, or that he isn’t American. Sadly, these voters think that a non-American citizen can become President of the United States. Twenty percent of West Virginia voters still think Obama is a Muslim, which he isn’t. However, there are two things wrong here:
1) There is nothing wrong with being a hardworking, taxpaying, Muslim-American citizen
2) Despite Obama’s own assertions and statements, these folks continue to believe what they hear from “chain emails” and “neighbors”
If you ask me, these people are the true failures of the low-bar intelligence test. However, they’re “Middle Americans” so its not fashionable to say this or you’ll get called–gasp–an elitist!
I guess the truth hurts.
Republics can’t win an election based on their values & morals, because if they did, it would scare the crap out of rational Americans, so they have to use tactics such as above to get voters to not come out and vote. See? Pathetic. The GOP now means: GOT OUR PATHETICS
Anyone stupid enough to believe fliers like this shouldn’t be allowed to vote anyway. Yer just all atwitter because you know that the stupid ones are all democrats.
