“With God on Our Side”

I’ve spent the day catching up - on my email, on my blog readings, on sleep - after what has been a tremendously busy week. It has been interesting to read the perspectives of folks all over. But let me point you to one post in particular: “With God on Our Side, Redux.” The title refers to a little-known Bob Dylan tune, a performance of which, by Joan Baez, the author has on her site.

No matter which side of this motley assortment of social, cultural and economic divides you find yourself on, today is a day to stop, and consider your own convictions as well as the new course our nation has set for itself.

Head on over and read the whole thing. You’ll be glad you did.

Little known?! Oh, if that’s true it’s a shame.

I’ve been reading Linda’s entries on WordPress for a while, now. Always insightful and thought provoking.

Here’s a third version, with a rather inspired accompanying video.

One of the many interesting things about that song, I think, is how many people miss the point of it.

Thank you so much for the link to the alternative version of the song. It is very well done, and despite my fondness for Ms. Baez, I’ve substituted the new video in the post.
